Dalgona Coffee

A South Korean trend from the 70's that got the world crazy.


I am one who simply do not follow the mass. Perhaps it's my Aquariuan trait! Haha..

But I do get curious when something became explosive out of nowhere. Dalgona Coffee is one of them. After seeing so many posts on my Instagram and news feeds on Facebook, I became curious.


You need:

  • 1 tbsp instant coffee

I used Nescafe instant coffee because that's what my mother keeps in her pantry.

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp hot water

  • 3/4 cup to 1 cup milk

I used chilled ARLA organic milk. The only non-lactose free milk I can drink without farting all day!

  • ice cubes (optional)

Method:

  1. Combine instant coffee, sugar and hot water in a mixing bowl. Mix them well. I used a hand whisk. Whisking manually is good for my arms..Morning workout!

  2. Add the ice cubes in your favourite mug IF YOU want it iced. I just used chilled milk. Scoop out the whipped coffee on top of the milk. Serve.

My mother likes it. She said it is smooth and delicious. I like it too. Perhaps something I would serve on special occasion.
