Honestly, I could not find ONE photo of this place in my folders. I ought to start organising all pictures I took! Aaaanyways, I was first introduced to this cafe by Micke. Micke drives the train and ever so often he would come down to Stockholm from Falun. Yes, we fika together, a lot, especially when he makes a stop in Stockholm.
”You need to climb up the hill. Are you okay with that?"
Yes...Yes, Micke! I can walk and climb any hill just for a fika with you! It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Stockholm Centralstation and up Vasagatan. Just be prepared to walk up the hill..It's rather steep. Unless you are an expert with high-heels, a pair of good shoes will do the trick!
Classic. Relaxing. Cozy. Arne Nyberg opened his first konditori here at Upplandsgatan in 1949 . It is still standing strong till this very day since. Whether you are dining inside or sitting outside, there is always that peaceful serenity you feel deep inside. Nybergs quickly become my top 5 konditorier to go to. The staff are always smiley and you always hear laughters from the kitchen or behind the counter. Sometimes I cracked up a joke or two with the cashier.
Authentically Swedish!
Located at number 26, this lovely gem is very near Folkuniversitetet where I studied Swedish. With a wide variety of mouth-watering cakes, buns, fresh bread and sandwiches, and reasonably priced it's a perfect spot for a date or just to sit back, relax, enjoy the bryggkaffe, read a book or paper or have a conversation.
